History In the 70´s and early 80's the peruvian basketball was at his peak, they won some southamerica championships, and played at the FIBA world cup. In the 90's until 2022, basketball had many problems, the worst was the disaffiliation of FIBA in 2021. Nowadays In 2023 the national basketball federation was reborn. They organized the u17 national championship, the national league which is the most ranked competition in Peru. And they are on their way to get their affiliation to FIBA again. There is still no professional league but They are in progress. So far the best leagues are "Liga de Basketball de Lima" and "Liga de Basketball de Arequipa".
